This months very pretty poster is by Conor Bryce.  Check out what he is up to at http://www.behance.net/conorbryce

In his own words  "The poster grew from the idea of a brown paper bag being used to hold purchases from The Flea. From there, the tearing away of layers to show examples of what's on offer evolved, with the central sun promising a start to the summer!"

Thanks so much Conor. We love it and it goes with the brown paper bag of our website!

Fergal's Flea Poster

We find Fergal Brennan to be one of the most unpredictable artists we know, which is why we love him. And his poster.

So many nationalities attend the market, I thought it would be nice to advertise something that grabs a more multicultural attention.
The gradients and colours are robbed from Tanaka Ikko posters. They are fantastic; deceptively simple. Don't google it though.

Fleaster Sunday Egg Hunt

The Flea market falls on Easter Sunday again this year AND the clocks go forward on Sunday morning. So yes, it does mean that you may have to get up an hour earlier to get all the good bargains! And to get all the eggs.....

keep your eyes peeled on all the stalls on Sunday for any egg shaped surprises. Find one and its yours!!

Happy Fleaster

poster design by Peter Fitzsimmons who was inspired with an easter theme and the idea of enjoying a boiled egg while admiring the spoils of your latest trip to the flea market.
" I photographed all the items while staying at my parents house, a veritable treasure trove of bric-a-brac. I also wanted to incorporate the text into image as it might appear on an actual object, including the map."

February Poster

Vero Reshto is the fantastic designer behind our February Poster.
Check out what else she's been creating at www.verareshto.com

"The idea behind the poster is to show the flea market as a kind of maze. You enter the market and develop your own path through the area, trying to explore as much as you can. At the same time you remember places where you have been so that you can find your way back in order to buy things that you like."

January Poster - Mark Nally

We asked Mark Nally for a few words on the thinking behind his January poster and he sent us his progression sketches instead saying that they were the best way to show what direction he was going in. "Everything is drawn in pencil first, then redrawn in pen. Then they're scanned, placed and coloured in photoshop."

Beautiful type and illustration, thanks Mark.

Roll on 2013

What a great weekend in Block B....thanks so much to all the traders for taking part and making it such a lovely market. Its an absolute pleasure to do your christmas shopping in such a nice environment (if we may say so ourselves).

So that was the last of the markets for 2012. Next market will take place back in The Co-op on Newmarket on January 27th. Applications will open for that on January 1st through the website as usual. Til then, enjoy the rest of the holidays.
